One might think that there is little hope based on these facts alone, but the truth is, oral cancer has a 90% cure rate when caught early enough.
We are pleased to announce that we now use TRIMARA™ in our office for the purpose of detecting early signs of oral cancer. TRIMARA™ is a highly effective oral cancer screening system that has recently been approved by the FDA. The exam is performed with a specially designed light that can detect suspicious tissues of virtually any size and make them easily visible. This type of screening system truly is a lifesaver!
ORAL DNA
Advances in genetic evaluations have led to dental DNA testing that can help us in identifying dental disease issues that have a genetic component. Specifically, we can use a simple DNA test to more efficiently treat gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease has a significant bacterial component. The oral DNA test allows us to gear an antibiotic regimen that fights the primary bacteria responsible for the infection in each individual's case.
ULTRASONIC DENTAL CLEANINGS
The use of ultrasonic instrumentation along with the use of the latest in topical anesthetic provides our patients with the best in dental cleanings. The ultrasonic instrumentation allows for a very thorough cleaning not as readily achievable with hand instrumentation. The latest in topical anesthetics gives our patients the peace of mind in knowing that their cleaning will be a comfortable experience. By coupling this with advanced treatment modalities we can frequently treat moderate gum disease issues in a non-surgical manner.
